The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro have been introduced in China as the first phones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The Xiaomi 15 series comes with an enhanced camera, larger battery, and a faster chipset.
Xiaomi has unveiled its new smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The Xiaomi 15 Pro not only carries the best mobile processor but also offers significant improvements over its predecessor, including an upgraded camera, a brighter display, and a massive 6100 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 15 features an ultra-narrow (1.38mm), symmetrical bezel design with a compact 6.36-inch flat OLED display. The screen provides a resolution of 2670x1200, a 1-120Hz LTPO variable refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It incorporates the brand's Dragon Crystal Glass technology, making it 10 times more drop-resistant than the previous generation.
In contrast, the Xiaomi 15 Pro boasts a higher resolution (3200x1440) and a larger (6.73-inch) 2K curved OLED display. It utilizes TCL CSOT's M9 lighting material, which features a dual-layer micro-void emission structure, reducing power consumption by 24% compared to the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The display supports 1-120 Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate and three-level screen section refresh. It is equipped with the robust Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 technology, offering 3,200 nits brightness and 25-30% better drop resistance. Both models employ Goodix Technology’s ultrasonic fingerprint detection, allowing quick unlocking even with wet hands.
The Xiaomi 15 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, providing a 45% increase in single-core and multi-core performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is supported by Xiaomi HyperCore and the brand's custom-developed micro-architecture timer, ensuring a 45.7% faster app launch response time.
The standard Xiaomi 15 model features a Leica-developed triple Summilux 50MP camera; it includes a primary Light Fusion 900 sensor (1/1.3″, f/1.62, OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide sensor (Samsung S5KJN1, f/2.2), and a 50MP telephoto lens (Samsung S5KJN5, 1/2.75″, f/2.0, OIS) providing 5x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro model features a Leica-supported triple camera setup, including a 50 MP main sensor (Sony LYT900, 1/1.3″, f/1.44 aperture, OIS), a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor (Samsung S5KJN1, f/2.2), and a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens (Sony IMX858, OIS). The periscope camera offers 5x optical zoom and 10x lossless zoom, enhanced with Xiaomi's ALD ultra-transparent coating and Leica-specific optics for improved image clarity. An UltraZOOM-20X feature is also available for capturing more details. Both models are equipped with a 32 MP OmniVision OV32B40 camera.
The Xiaomi 15 is powered by a 5400 mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, while the Pro model features the same charging speed but with a 6100 mAh battery. It also supports 30W magnetic wireless charging.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 Pro supports satellite connectivity, enabling offline communication up to 3.5 km via the Surge T1S signal enhancement chip.
The Xiaomi 15 is available in purple, green, black, white, and shiny silver colors, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro offers a gray option instead of purple.
