The artificial intelligence leader OpenAI has integrated its popular chatbot, ChatGPT, into WhatsApp. Now, anyone can add ChatGPT to WhatsApp and start chatting instantly.
The new AI-powered chat experience is now available on WhatsApp. On Wednesday, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT is accessible through fixed lines. By adding the number 1-800-CHATGPT or 1-800-242-8478 (for users outside the US) to WhatsApp, users can start chatting right away.
OpenAI states that the goal of this integration is to make artificial general intelligence beneficial for humanity and as accessible as possible . This feature is especially valuable for regions with limited internet access, enabling users to connect to ChatGPT via WhatsApp.

Additionally, OpenAI allows users to make 15 minutes of voice calls per month via the same number (currently available only for US users). These calls don’t even require WhatsApp; dialing the number directly from any phone is sufficient.
This integration is supported by GPT-4o mini’s compatibility with WhatsApp API and offers a simplified version of ChatGPT, making it a significant step for those new to artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, OpenAI has revealed plans to add new features to WhatsApp integration. These include image analysis and web searches , though the timeline for their rollout remains unclear.
