Xiaomi is preparing to present the first prototype of its electric car

Xiaomi officials say the first prototype of the electric car will be unveiled in the third quarter of this year. Company officials also claim that the prototype will meet the expectations of users.

With the popularity of electric cars in recent years, many companies are trying to enter this market. Brands are already looking to gain a foothold in the market, as cars using gasoline and diesel are expected to be banned in the coming years. One of them is Xiaomi. Luo Baojun, Xiaomi's Beijing-Tianjin CEO, said the first prototype of the company's first electric car will be unveiled in the third quarter of this year. The company said in March last year that it wanted to produce an electric car, and with an investment of $ 1.57 billion, Xiaomi Automobile Co. had established its own sub-brand called. Under Lei Jun's leadership, 500 workers have been hired to conduct research and improvements for the electric car of the future. According to My Drivers, Xiaomi Automobile plans to build a plant that can produce 300,000 electric cars a year. The new plant will be able to gradually produce 150,000 cars a year. The company's smartphone department is said to be in close contact with Xiaomi Automobile on batteries, imaging devices, logistics and software. Xiaomi's first electric car will go on sale in the first half of 2024.
