Honor Magic V5 is coming: The thinnest and lightest foldable phone ever

Honor is set to unveil its new foldable phone, the Honor Magic V5, on July 2. According to CEO George Zhao, this will be the world’s thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone.

The reveal will take place at MWC Shanghai 2025, where Zhao confirmed that the Honor Magic V5 will feature advanced AI capabilities and set new standards in foldable design.

Though official measurements haven’t been disclosed, leaks suggest the phone will be just 8mm thick when folded, and weigh between 210–219 grams.

Zhao also stated that it will be the most AI-powered foldable phone in its class, offering a comprehensive personal information system, multi-agent AI collaboration, PC-level productivity, and seamless integration with all Honor devices.

Expected specs of the Honor Magic V5

Reports say the Magic V5 will come with:

• 7.95-inch 2K+ LTPO OLED inner display,
• 6.45-inch outer display,
• powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, capable of 4.47 GHz CPU and 1200 MHz GPU speeds.

It will include a massive 6100 mAh battery — the largest in any foldable phone — and support 80W wired fast charging along with wireless charging.

Other highlights:

• 200 MP main camera,
• side-mounted fingerprint sensor,
• and Beidou satellite messaging support.
