Foldable iPad Pro is coming: Another key feature revealed

New leaks about Apple's foldable iPad Pro plans continue to emerge. The device, expected to launch in 2027, will feature a groundbreaking innovation for the iPad series.

As you know, Apple has yet to enter the foldable device market. The company has not officially announced or released any foldable products. However, rumors suggest that Apple will take a unique approach and introduce the iPad Pro as its first foldable device. Recent leaks have unveiled new details about the upcoming model.

What will the foldable iPad Pro offer?

Previously, reports indicated that small-scale production could begin in late 2024, but now a new feature has surfaced. According to Digital Chat Station, the device is being tested with an 18.8-inch foldable display and under-display Face ID technology. This means that users will be able to unlock the device via facial recognition without any visible notch or camera cutout.

If this technology proves successful in the iPad, it could later be implemented in future iPhone models. According to DSCC, Apple might launch the foldable iPad Pro in 2027. Meanwhile, sources indicate that LG could begin producing 18.8-inch or 20.2-inch displays by late 2025, aligning with the 2026–2027 release window.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly developing a new MacBook model with a 19-inch display while working on solving the crease issue in foldable screens. As for the iPhone series, the first foldable model is expected to adopt a Flip design.
