Ming-Chi Kuo, whom we know as an Apple analyst, shared his predictions about the iPhone 14's front camera. According to Kuo, the company will improve the selfie camera on its new generation smartphones, bringing it closer to the features of other brands' flagships.
The experienced analyst says that all four iPhone 14 models will be equipped with a better front camera than the models released in the last two years. It is not clear whether the sensor will change, but the information is that it will offer autofocus and the aperture will decrease from f/2.2 to f/1.9. This camera upgrade on next-generation iPhones will provide better shallow depth of field for selfies or portrait mode, as well as improve focus quality during video calls and live broadcasts. It will also have a positive effect on low-light shooting performance.
As you may recall, it was previously reported that Apple plans to include a 48-megapixel main camera on the iPhone 14 Pro models. According to Kuo, the updated front camera will be used on all four new iPhone 14 models. So it won't be an exclusive upgrade to the Pro series only.
