Apple has updated the iPhone Mirroring feature offered in iOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia beta. It is now possible to manage the iPhone home screen from Mac.

iPhone Mirroring is one of the highlights of iOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia, which will be released in the final version this autumn. Apple added a new feature to iPhone Mirroring in the beta version of these updates. It is now possible to edit the iPhone home screen from a Mac computer.

When iPhone Mirroring is opened from Mac, the iPhone home screen can now be edited by long pressing the screen. This feature allows you to drag icons and widgets between pages, just like on iPhone. You can also adjust widget sizes, use the new icon colouring feature in iOS 18, and add new widgets. Of course, it is also possible to delete apps from the phone and home screen.

In previous beta versions of iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, it was not possible to edit the iPhone's home screen. Years ago, the iPhone's home screen could be edited using iTunes, but this feature was removed during the transition from iTunes to Music. iPhone Mirroring is available in the latest beta versions of iOS 18, iOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15 and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

The iPhone Mirroring feature is not without its shortcomings. For example, notifications from iPhone are simultaneously sent to the Mac computer, but iPhone's notification centre cannot be accessed from Mac. It is not possible to access the Control Centre and edit the lock screen.
