iPhone 16 processors will be produced in TSMC`s 3nm process

Apple which is an important customer of chip manufacturers with high iPhone and Mac sales, has made an agreement with TSMC for the 3nm process. According to new information, the company will use processors produced in the 3nm process in all iPhone models that it will put on sale in 2024.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will be produced in different 3nm processes

According to the Morgan Stanley report, TSMC had to reduce production in the 3nm fabrication process. It was previously stated that Apple has agreed with TSMC for all chips that will be produced in the 3nm process, but apparently not all chips produced in the 3nm process will be the same efficiency. Allegedly, the processors to be used in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will be produced in the first generation 3nm process, while the processors to be used in the iPhone 16 Pro models will be produced in the more efficient second generation 3nm process. In addition, M3 processors to be used in new generation Mac devices are expected to be produced in the second generation 3nm process.
