TikTok restricts screen time for under 18s

Today, TikTok has become the number one entertainment tool for children and young people. Regulatory bodies are also putting pressure on social media platforms for the generations that spend their hours in front of the screen. In this sense, measures such as tightening parental controls or adjusting screen time are taken.

In a statement made by TikTok, which maintains its most watched social media platform feature, it was stated that the screen time of users under the age of 18 will be limited to 1 hour by default. When 1 hour is up during application usage, the system will ask the user to enter a password. After entering the password, you will be able to continue watching. If the user wishes, he will be able to remove the restriction by going to the Settings menu.

On the other hand, the Parent Match feature has also been updated. Parents will be able to take control by linking to their TikTok account. While the videos are filtered by words or tags, a daily usage limit can also be set.
