CEO Sam Altman announced that they stopped new ChatGPT Plus memberships following the increase in usage after OpenAI's DevDay event. It is unclear when memberships will reopen.

The suspension of new subscriptions for ChatGPT Plus is also a new GPT-4 Turbo and the ability to create custom GPTs. Nothing will change for existing subscribers. On the other hand, users will be able to get information about the reopening of subscriptions by registering within the application.

At the developer conference it organized, OpenAI enabled anyone who wanted to create private GPTs for their own purposes and data and publish them in the GPT Store. No coding is required to create these special GPTs. More than 5,000 GPTs are currently available.

ChatGPT and GPT-4 Turbo aside, OpenAI is currently quietly working on developing GPT-5 . Altman had said that the training process for GPT-5 would require a significant increase in data volume. Of course, this data will be obtained from a combination of publicly available data sets on the internet and companies' private data sets. While GPT-5 is expected to be more sophisticated than its predecessors, OpenAI also plans to seek additional financial support from its main investor Microsoft to realize its vision of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
