Moto Razr 2022 is officially launched - Flip 4`s biggest competitor!

The Moto 2022 has made its (Chinese) debut just hours after Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The showdown is on and it is going to be a fierce one at that. The Moto Razr 2022 comes geared with amazing hardware, being powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest chipset, and a breath-taking design which successfully reconciles modernity and nostalgia. But does the Moto Razr 2022 have what it takes to give the Flip lineup, the undisputed king of foldables, a run for its money? We are about to find out. The Moto Razr 2022 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the most powerful SoC currently available on Android devices. Coincidently, the same processor is also at the heart of the Galaxy Z Flip 4. This means that the Razr 2022 should offer the same performance as the Flip 4, on par with or better than most current Android flagships. Battery life should be fairly good, given the better power efficiency of the Gen 1 and the 3,500mAh battery. Charging is capped at 33W.

The Razr 2022 will come with a base 8GB of RAM, ad up to 12GB of RAM for the high-end configuration. Internal storage options are relatively standard - 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The Razr 2022 runs the latest version of Android - Android 12. The primary screen of the Razr 2022 is a 2400×1080, 6.7" flexible OLED display with a matte finish and a 144Hz refresh rate. The secondary one - an interactive 2.7” Quick View cover display with a 800x573 resolution. The latter has seen a size bump in comparison to previous generations and its capabilities have also been greatly expanded. The foldable form factor has been greatly improved upon, with a slimmer and sturdier hinge and a nearly non-existent gap when folded. Speaking of design changes, the chin of the previous model has been eliminated for an overall sleeker look. The foldable display also facilitates the Moto Razr 2022's flex view capabilities, a feature that allows you to use the Razr in unique ways unlike ordinary phones. The Razr 2022 is no slouch in the camera department as well. The primary sensor is a 50MP instant focus camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), backed by a 13MP ultra-wide shooter. Motorola claims that the Razr 2022 has the most sophisticated camera module on a flip phone to date. The Razr 2022 steps up its selfie game as well, with a 32MP front-facing camera. While on the topic of audio-visual performance, it is necessary to mention the speaker setup on the Moto Razr 2022. The device comes with immersive Dolby Atmos speakers which promise to deliver crystal-clear audio.

Everything sounds great, right? That's when you get to the topic of pricing and availability. The base configuration of the Razr 2022 starts at CNY 5,999 (about the equivalent of $890). This is about a $100 less than the normal price of the Flip 4 which comes in at $999 (without the exclusive Samsung pre-order discount). Nevertheless, paying for the Razr 2022 is one thing, but actually buying it is quite more difficult.
