Apple has introduced the eagerly awaited new MacBook Pro models. With Apple M4 Pro and Apple M4 Max chipsets, these devices are among the most powerful laptop models on the market.
Apple's 2024 Mac lineup introduction week is ongoing. After refreshing its iMac and Mac Mini models, today Apple introduced the much-anticipated new MacBook Pro models. The new models are equipped with Apple's most powerful M4 chips.
The 2024 MacBook Pro models continue with 14 and 16-inch screen sizes, but the most significant difference is in the processor. Apple M4, Apple M4 Pro, and Apple M4 Max chipsets power the new models.
The Apple M4 chip, developed with 3nm technology, includes a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. The Apple M4 Prochip offers a 14-core CPU (10+4 configuration) and can scale up to a 20-core GPU. The Apple M4 Max is the company's most powerful chip to date, with a 16-core CPU (12+4 configuration) and up to 40-core GPU.
According to Apple, the M4-powered MacBook Pro performs 1.8 times faster in editing tasks and 3 times better in AI-based tasks compared to the M1 chip version. The device supports two high-resolution displays and includes 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports.
The M4 Pro chip-powered MacBook Pro provides 75% faster bandwidth compared to previous models and 3 times better performance than the M1 Pro model in data modeling and structural engineering. This model also includes Thunderbolt 5 ports that reach 120Gb/s speeds.
The M4 Max chip-powered MacBook Pro offers up to 3.5 times better performance than the M1 Max in visual effectsand 3D animation tasks. With 128GB of unified memory, it can handle up to 200 billion parameters in language learning models. This model also includes Thunderbolt 5 ports with 120Gb/s speeds.
The new MacBook Pro models can reach 1000 nits brightness for SDR content and 1600 nits for HDR content. The 12MP camera supports Center Stage, and the 6-speaker sound system comes with spatial audio and Dolby Audio. Additional features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, MagSafe 3 charging port, and SDXC card slot.
MacBook Pro models with M4 chips are now available for pre-order. The new series, starting at $1599, will begin shipping on November 8.
