Intel Core Ultra 5 235 is Coming: Expected Features

The benchmarking results for Intel Core Ultra 5 235, which will succeed the Intel Core i5-14500, have surfaced. What does this mid-range CPU bring to the table? Let’s take a look at the results...

Intel is preparing to launch its next-gen Arrow Lake-S processors along with the new 800-series motherboards in the coming weeks. As you may recall, we previously discussed the potential pricing of the models in this series. Now, the successor to the Core i5-14500, Core Ultra 5 235, has appeared. Let’s dive into its clock speeds and more...

Intel Core Ultra 5 235 Revealed

According to Geekbench, the Intel Core Ultra 5 235 will feature 6 performance cores based on Lion Cove architecture and 8 efficiency cores based on Skymont architecture. For comparison, the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K comes with 8 performance and 16 efficiency cores. The new CPU is expected to reach clock speeds of 4.9-5.0GHz and will be available with 65W TDP.

In terms of results, the mid-range Arrow Lake-S processor scores 2,634 in single-core and 13,293 in multi-core Geekbench 6 tests. This shows a 3% improvement in single-core performance compared to the Core i5-14500, with similar performance in multi-core results. However, it’s worth noting that this CPU lacks Hyper-Threading support, indicating a minor upgrade.

Previous reports suggest that Intel Arrow Lake-S processors are expected to be announced next week, but only for K-series models. Non-K models will likely be introduced at CES 2025.

What does Intel "Arrow Lake" offer?

We now know quite a bit about the features of Arrow Lake processors. They are expected to use the same Lion Cove P-cores and Skymont E-cores as Lunar Lake, with a focus on high-performance tasks, including AI-focused NPU support. Intel Arrow Lake processors are expected to rival Ryzen 9000 series.
