Twitter DMs are encrypted: even Musk won`t be able to read it!

Elon Musk continues to make changes on Twitter. Musk said in a statement on the platform on Tuesday that direct messages will now be encrypted. In addition, Twitter will soon allow users to make audio and video calls.

Musk: "I can't see your DMs even if they put a gun to my head!"
According to Musk's statement, the new version of the Twitter app will allow users to reply to any message in a thread, not just the latest thread. Users will also be able to choose any emoji as a reaction. Most importantly, DMs will be encrypted. Even Twitter will not be able to access encrypted messages. It's debatable that even Musk won't be able to access it, but it's a nice development for privacy. As it will be remembered, in the past, third-party application developers had access to the private messages of some users, and Twitter accepted this vulnerability. Musk also said that Twitter is working on the new voice and video calling feature. Users will be able to talk to anyone on the platform without providing their phone number. Twitter currently allows users to have live audio conversations with Spaces, but these conversations are public and group chats.

Meanwhile, in April, only conversations Twitter users had with people they designated were open to the public. Twitter acknowledged this error and notified users via e-mail that the error has been fixed.
