iMessage improvements:

  • Apple has redesigned the experience with a new drawer on the keyboard for easier access to common features like Camera, Photo, Stickers, Apple Cash, Voice, Location Sharing. Also one of the fun additions is what Apple calls "Live Stickers" which users create by drawing objects on their photos and adding additional effects.

A new safety feature called Check In also allows users to notify family or friends when they arrive safely at their destination.

iOS 17 also introduces StandBy, a full-screen experience with information and widgets, clocks, photos, and even notifications that can be seen when the phone is on its side.

The update will also bring Journal, a new first-party app that allows users to track their day and health. This feature has not yet been tested during public beta, so users will definitely want to try it out.
