Android 14 is out: Here are the first phones to be updated to Android 14

Google released Android 14 during the Made by Google event, where it introduced the Pixel Watch 2 along with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The first phones to receive Android 14 update have been announced.

Google released Android 14, the newest version of the Android operating system, during the introduction of new devices at its event on 4 October, and the first devices to receive Android 14 were announced. Pixel 4A 5G models will be the first phones to receive the Android 14 update. Phones from manufacturers such as Samsung, Nothing, OnePlus will be updated to Android 14 later this year.

Innovations coming with Android 14:

Android 14 brings new security features such as deeper passkey support, privacy protections, and numerous user interface, customisation and health updates. One of the notable innovations coming with Android 14 is the new lock screen customisations. By switching between different clock styles and formats, you can make the style of the phone a little more personalised. Google also offers an AI-powered wallpaper creator. However, this feature will initially only be available on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The new version of Android brings support for passkeys, allowing you to use your fingerprint to log in to third-party apps. Other new features include better camera extension support, 10-bit HDR image support, and a new Health Connect feature that stores health and fitness data on the device, similar to the Apple Health app. Android 14 update notes for Pixel devices can be found on this page.
