Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the first smartphone with Sony IMX989 camera

According to leaks from China, the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra flagship smartphone will be the first device to feature an unannounced Sony IMX989 camera sensor.

According to the source, Sony is preparing to announce a new 50MP IMX9 series sensor measuring around 1 inch. This sensor will be launched on the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphone. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to come with a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display that offers 2K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and LTPO 2.0 technology. The device is also likely to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset and a triple rear camera that offers 50MP + 48MP + 48MP resolution with OIS in addition to 120x zoom. The smartphone, which is expected to come with a 4900mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, will come out of the box with the Android 12 operating system. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to be launched at the end of the second quarter of 2022.
