Windows and Android still have more security issues than Apple
Windows and Android still lag far behind Apple systems when it comes to new malware samples. Data reported today says that malware on Windows and Android operating systems is far more prevalent than on Apple systems.
Privacy and security have an important place on all platforms today. Although many users face bad situations in terms of privacy and security, companies are looking for solutions to this problem. Of course, there has been a great competition between Apple systems and other operating systems from the past. In the past, Apple systems were known to be more secure. However, considering the current situation, the fact that Apple is still far ahead makes the usability of Windows and Android questionable. In January of 2022, a total of 11.4 million malware were detected. In the following months, 8.93 million, 8.77 million and 5.65 million malware entered our lives, respectively, as of April. In other words, users met with more than 34 million malware in total in the first four months of 2022.
Looking at the cross-platform distribution, we see that Windows encountered 25.4 million new malware in 2022. Android, on the other hand, battled 536,000 new malware. However, when we look at MacOS, we see that a total of 2,000 new malware has been encountered. So the difference between Apple systems and other systems is very, very big. Of course, although the number of users of systems such as Android and Windows is a big factor here, the numbers do not seem acceptable.
