Unskippable ads are increasing on YouTube TV

In recent years, one of YouTube’s biggest sources of growth has been viewership on television screens. The Google-owned platform is now looking to generate more revenue from that audience.

One of the steps in this direction is the rollout of non-skippable 30-second ads for TVs. This format is now available to advertisers globally. According to the company, its AI system dynamically optimizes between 6-second bumper ads, 15-second standard ads, and 30-second non-skippable formats designed exclusively for connected TV devices. The goal is to ensure that each campaign reaches the right audience at the right time.

For users who want to avoid ads, the main solution remains a YouTube Premium subscription. The platform has also recently made its more affordable Premium Lite option more attractive by adding new features. As a result, Lite is emerging as an alternative for users who do not want to pay for the full Premium package.
