Short video service TikTok was downloaded more than 175 million times in the first quarter of this year, making it the fastest growing social media platform in the world. This statistic appears in a new report published by research firm Sensor Tower.

 In terms of the number of downloads, Instagram and Facebook, which have been downloaded more than 150 million times, are in the second and third place, while the messaging platform WhatsApp is in the fourth place with 125 million downloads. The fifth place is closed by Telegram, which has been downloaded more than 100 million times. In total, TikTok has been downloaded more than 3.5 billion times since its launch, making it the fifth app with this indicator and the only one not owned by Facebook's parent company Meta. Since the beginning of 2018, when WhatsApp was downloaded 250 million times, no app has had more downloads than TikTok.
