Samsung removes the letter Z from smartphones for Russia

Samsung removes the letter Z from smartphones for Russia

Samsung is removing the letter Z from Galaxy Flip and Galaxy Fold models in some countries. The main reason for the name change is the use of the letter Z in the tanks of the Russian army.

Samsung uses the letter Z in naming some models. These are the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold. However, with a sudden decision by the company, the letter Z is removed from these models in some European countries. In countries such as Latvia, Estonia and Letonia, these models are no longer displayed on the official website of Samsung without the letter Z. So it looks like Galaxy Flip and Galaxy Fold. It is claimed that the biggest reason for Samsung to do this is the presence of the letter Z on Russian tanks in the Russian-Ukrainian war. So far, the company has applied it only on its website. However, in the coming days, the letter Z will be removed from the boxes and software of the models we are talking about. It should be noted that this step is currently applied in other European countries except Russia.
