Microsoft has implemented DirectStorage
API and speed optimizations for Windows 11. The new operating system will
satisfy a lot of users who want speed and performance.
Microsoft, which released Windows 11
months ago, said that from 2022, very serious optimizations will be applied to
Windows 11. This will make the new operating system both faster and more
efficient. Apparently, the company has begun to keep its word. One of the
biggest complaints from users was the slow opening of the right-click menu in
Windows 11. Microsoft officials say the problem has been fixed with the preview
version of Windows 11, number 22572. Users using this version have also
confirmed this. Thus, in previous versions, the opening of the right-click menu
was delayed by 1-2 seconds, which makes users feel that the system is slow. Now
this problem has been eliminated.
Another optimization Microsoft has
applied to Windows 11 is DirectStorage API support. Used in game consoles, this
technology allows games to open faster and perform better. We can explain the
working principle of this technology. Normally, games are transferred from
memory devices first to the processor and then to the video card. Because
processors have limits on data transfer, this processor is partially limited.
With support for the DirectStorage API, game files can now be transferred
directly from memory devices to the video card. This will allow games to be
rendered and opened faster. However, in order to use this technology, the memory
device in your computer must be an SSD, not a Hard Disk. Because SSDs have a
higher file transfer rate than traditional hard drives. Microsoft officials say
that from now on, all games developed for Windows will have support for the
DirectStorage API.
