The legendary smartphone brand HTC is
back after a 4-year hiatus. The brand is preparing to introduce a new flagship
smartphone. This information was confirmed at the MWC 2022 conference.
HTC was one of the world`s largest
smartphone brands 10 years ago. However, due to the wrong strategies they
followed, they became so small that they disappeared from the market.
Withdrawing from the global market, the company continues to sell budget-friendly
smartphones in some markets. The Taiwanese company will launch its first
Android flagship smartphone next year in four years. This information was
confirmed at the MWC 2022 conference by Charles Huang, CEO of HTC Vive Asia.
The new flagship model will be the first flagship model after the HTC U12 +
introduced in 2018. The new model will be an enhanced smartphone focused on
virtual reality applications. It will also be deeply integrated with HTC`s open
source Metaverse project called Viveverse. In 2018, the company sold its
smartphone division to Google. The company, which currently operates only in
some markets, plans to re-enter the global market.
