Lapsus$ hackers who attacked Microsoft, Nvidia and Samsung started to be arrested

New information has emerged about the Lapsus$ group, which hacked many technology giants. Young criminals identified in the investigation started to be taken into custody.

The Lapsus$ group, which has cyberattacked big companies such as Nvidia and Samsung from the technology world, added Microsoft to its victim list in the past weeks. New details have been shared about the group, which has come to the fore with many cyber attacks in the last four months. UK police, which is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the Lapsus$ group, announced last week that they have arrested two teenagers, one 16 and the other 17, who were identified in connection with the cyberattacks. Detective Michael O'Sullivan, who was responsible for the investigation, said that among the criminals whose identities were not disclosed due to their age, the 16-year-old was also accused of "securing unauthorized access with a computer and a program." Announcing last week that one of the Lapsus$ accounts had breached security in the face of attacks and had limited access to company systems, Microsoft reported that customers were blocked from accessing their data. Also, addressing the allegations that Lapsus$ stole the Microsoft source code of the group in its statement, the technology giant emphasized the company's risk management approach and stated that even if the codes were seized, it would not provide any benefit.
