Instagram is changing its algorithms. The head of the platform, Adam Mosseri, announced in a new post that they have updated the way their algorithms sort to make original content more prominent.
Instagram states that they try to prioritize original content as much as possible, but it is not easy to detect whether a photo or video is original. Mosseri stated that with all this, differences were made in their algorithms in order to further support the content creators. Mosseri wrote: "If you create something from scratch, you should get more credit from resharing something you found from someone else. We will do more to give original content more value, especially compared to reposted content." made statements. With its new updates, Instagram will reduce the likelihood of accounts that repeat other people's original content. Last year, the platform went down in recommending videos that were reposted with the TikTok logo on Reels.
