iPhone 17 Pro models may come with 12GB RAM

The iPhone 16 launch event is a long time away, but the rumours about iPhone 17 are not stopping. It was suggested that Apple will not increase the amount of memory until 2025 iPhone Pro models.

Through analyst Jeff Pu, who has sources in Apple's supply chains in Asia, rumours about the iPhone 17 continue to be rumoured. Following the rumour that Apple will shelve the Plus model with the iPhone 17 series and bring a Slim model instead, it was suggested that Apple will increase the amount of RAM. Pu claims that Apple will increase the amount of memory with iPhone 17 Pro models.

For comparison, the current iPhone 15 Pro models have 8GB RAM. iPhone 16 Pro models will most likely not change the amount of memory. However, RAM will increase to 12GB on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which are expected to undergo a design change. This will of course allow for improved multitasking and more powerful apps on the phone.

  • iPhone 17: 8 GB RAM
  • iPhone 17 Slim: 8 GB RAM
  • iPhone 17 Pro: 12 GB RAM
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 12 GB RAM

How many GB of RAM does iPhone 15 come with?

  • iPhone 15: 6 GB RAM
  • iPhone 15 Plus: 6 GB RAM
  • iPhone 15 Pro: 8 GB RAM
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max: 8 GB RAM

Pu said that in addition to the increase in RAM, he expects the dynamic island to be smaller thanks to smaller metalens for the Face ID system. With the iPhone 14 Pro, the notch area will be narrowed for the first time since the dynamic island was introduced. In this context, the notchless iPhone design will not arrive until 2026.
