iPhone 15 will be faster!

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 15 series next month. It is said that the 2023 iPhone models will have a USB-C port instead of a Lightning connection. According to ChargerLAB, the new iPhones will support Thunderbolt technology. This means faster data transfer.

Among the leaked iPhone 15 components, the Retimer chip is very important. Because this chip is used in Thunderbolt devices to regenerate signals and reduce signal jitter. iPhone 15 will be able to transmit data at much higher speeds over the USB-C port. For comparison, the Lightning connector offers speeds of up to 480Mbps over USB 2.0; The USB-C connector transmits data between 5Gbps and 10Gbps. Data transfer rates go up to 40Gbps when it comes to Thunderbolt. This means that users can transfer data that normally takes a long time to transfer to a computer, such as ProRes videos, faster. This technology will also contribute to the charging time.

It is not yet clear whether Thunderbolt support will be on all iPhone 15s or only the Pro series. It will probably be a feature exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
