iPadOS 18 update stopped for M4 iPad Pro

Apple, which released iOS 18 for iPhones, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia for Mac computers this week, has stopped the iPadOS 18 update for the M4 iPad Pro.

As you know, the highly anticipated iOS 18, iPadOS 18 for iPads and macOS Sequoia for Mac computers were made available for download last night for all supported devices. However, in the past hours, Apple has surprisingly stopped the distribution of iPadOS 18 for the M4 iPad Pro. It is stated that the new update makes iPads unusable.

As mentioned above, Apple has stopped the distribution of iPadOS 18 for the new iPad Pro with M4 processor for a short time. The cause of the problem in question has not yet been announced. However, it first appeared on Reddit and users complained that their iPads became unusable or ‘brick’ after trying to install the latest version of iPadOS.

For example, one user posted: ‘At some point during the update my iPad shut down and won't turn on anymore, I took it to the Apple Store and they confirmed it was completely broken, but even though I have Apple Care, it needs to be sent to their engineers so they can give me a new one.’ There are also many similar topics on social media platforms.

For now, Apple acknowledged the problem in its announcement, saying, ‘We have temporarily removed the iPadOS 18 update for M4 iPad Pro models while we work to resolve an issue affecting a small number of devices.’ The date when the update will be activated again has not yet been announced. Therefore, if you have an M4 iPad Pro and are experiencing similar problems, we recommend that you contact the authorised units.
