Apple made headlines with the launch of the iPad Pro 2024, powered by the M4 chipset. Now, the upcoming iPad Pro 2025 has had its launch date and chipset details leaked.
As one of the biggest names in the tablet market, Apple received positive reviews for the M4-powered iPad Pro introduced earlier this year. The company is now preparing to unveil its next-generation iPad Pro 2025. According to recent leaks, the new model will feature the debut of the M5 Bionic chipset.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that the new iPad Pro is expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2025. He also confirmed that the updated tablet will be powered by the M5 chip. Judging by the leaked timeline, Apple appears to have deviated from its traditional schedule, with plans to unveil the MacBook Air and iPad Air during spring events and reserve the new iPad Pro for a year-end release.
Previously, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg had predicted that the M5 chip would first appear in the iPad Pro by mid-to-late 2025, aligning with the current rumors.
Details about the M5 chip remain scarce. However, reports suggest it will be Apple's first 2nm chip, boasting significantly more transistors compared to the M4, which is based on 3nm technology.
