iOS 18.2 introduces a new safety feature to protect children

iOS 18.2 will include a security feature that allows children to directly report explicit photos sent to them via iMessage to AppleApple will review these images and take immediate action.

iOS 18.2 will add a new option to iMessage that lets children report messages containing explicit photos and videos to AppleApple will review complaints and may take actions such as disabling the sender's Apple account or notifying law enforcement.


Children can report inappropriate images to Apple

iPhone will prepare a report that includes the image or video, any messages sent before and after, and contact information of both accounts. Users will fill out a form explaining the situation.

The iMessage feature enhancing children's safety is currently active in Australia and will soon be available globally. This feature is an extension of Communication Safety in iOS 17, designed to alert children when they receive or send messages containing nudity.
