Samsung's popular foldable smartphone series Galaxy Z Fold had S-Pen support with the Z Fold 3 model in 2021. Just like the S21 Ultra, the Z Fold 3 supported S-Pen, but did not have an S-Pen slot. Having killed the Galaxy Note brand with the S22 Ultra, Samsung stated that it would bring the S-Pen to different devices. At this point, the device most expected to have the internal S-Pen slot was the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but Samsung changed its mind on this issue.
In February, the first rumors came that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 would have an S-Pen slot. The fact that Samsung will put an S-Pen slot in the Z Fold series gave some joy to those who were upset about the murder of the Galaxy Note series. However, Samsung seems to have changed its mind on this issue. Known for its sources close to Samsung, Ice Universe stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will not have an S-Pen slot. It looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be smaller and thinner than the previous generation, so Samsung has given up on the S-Pen slot idea. It is not known what size the device will have compared to the previous generation, but the thinner it will make it easier to use foldable smartphones. Although Samsung will not put an S-Pen slot on the Z Fold 4, it will likely develop accessories that will facilitate the use of the S-Pen. Let's see if Samsung, the leader of the foldable smartphone market, will continue the Galaxy Note brand in foldable phones.
