Starlink satellite internet has been
activated for Russia-occupied Ukraine. Elon Musk announced this on Twitter. The
request of the Minister of Digitalization of Ukraine was evaluated by SpaceX.
Ukraine`s Minister of Digitalization
Mykhalio Fedorov, who is at war with Russia, addressed Elon Musk on Twitter. In
this appeal, the Minister said that there are Internet problems in Ukraine. For
this reason, there is a need to activate the Starlink satellite internet
service for easy use of the Internet. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also responded to
the request by saying that Starlink had evaluated the offer and that satellite
internet service for Ukraine had already been activated. More terminals have
also been sent for internet service. However, the number and how many people
can use it is still unknown. Russia`s operations have caused serious internet problems
in many parts of Ukraine. Now these problems are expected to be partially
resolved.
Mkyhalio Fedorov wrote in his post:
"While you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand. ”
