The Instagram account of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, which is expected to appear with a movie trilogy in the coming days, was stolen. Hundreds of NFTs were stolen, with losses exceeding $2.5 million.
Bored Ape Yacht Club, known as the world's most popular NFT collection, came to the fore this time with a tragic event. A hacker hacked the collection's official Instagram account. Afterwards, the hacker, who shared that they could get free metaverse plots through this account, stole the NFTs from the users' wallets with the links he sent.

 The hacker, who prepared a fake website and sent the link of this site to users, gained trust because it was in the official account. While there was a two-sentence article on the page describing the fake 'The Land Airdrop', the bottom button was linking users' MetaMask account to the site. The hacker, who stole more than a hundred NFTs from the accounts of those who linked their MetaMask accounts to the site, disappeared after Bored Ape Yacht Club announced on Twitter that their Instagram account was hacked. People who have been defrauded are on Twitter, 'What happens next?' While waiting for an explanation from the collection's account, there was also activity in the NFT market, where the robbery took place.

 The hacker, who previously linked his MetaMask wallet to his OpenSea profile, first appeared on the platform with the NFTs he stole. Then came a first-hand statement about the profile hidden on OpenSea. Allie Mack, Head of Communications for OpenSea, announced that OpenSea's terms of service prohibit fraudulently obtaining items or taking them without permission, which is why the hacker's account was banned from the platform. The balance sheet of the highlight was at least $ 2.5 million.

 Saying that he was trying to contact the victims, the team behind the collection explained that they did not know how the Instagram account was stolen.
