Apple is working on a new NFC payment system
According to Bloomberg, Apple is working
on a new NFC payment system. Allegedly, the company aims to support NFC-based
payment systems on existing iPhone and iPad models without the need for
additional devices. New devices that will be released in the future will also
support this system.
With this new NFC payment system, Apple
wants to integrate "touch and pay" terminal technology on iPads and
iPhones using the NFC chip in Apple devices. Thus, small business owners will
be able to accept payments using "touch and pay" technology without
additional equipment. It is also planned that this new feature will work with
Apple Pay. In this case, users will be able to make payments by touching the
back of another iPhone. In addition, users will be able to register their
credit cards on Apple devices, as on Android smartphones.
It is unknown when this new feature will
be available, but it is claimed that users will be able to use this feature
with iOS 15.4 Beta. No official information yet.
