Apple has reportedly entered into a deal with Chinese display manufacturer BOE. According to media reports, the contract between the two companies covers OLED screens to be used in the standard iPhone 14 version. BOE will produce between 30-50 million units, accounting for 15-25% of the total display order.
BOE will only supply 6.1-inch panels. The larger iPhone 14 Max and iPhone Pro duo will use displays made by LG and Samsung. However, it is said that the company will take some steps to strengthen its relations with Apple. There are reports that BOE is preparing to supply OLED panels for future iPad and Macbooks. To meet Apple's contractual requirements, the Chinese display maker will expand its B16 plant in Sichuan province and equip it with enough capacity to produce the required number of OLED panels.
