The adoption rate of Windows 11 did not surpass that of Windows XP

IT Asset Management company Lansweeper has shared a new research report on Windows usage rates. Windows 11 adoption rate lagged behind Windows XP.

IT asset management company Lansweeper has shared a new survey report on Windows usage rates among enterprise workstations. The survey, which brought together data collected from more than 10 million devices, revealed surprising results. Windows 11, which ended its support for many devices due to the TPM 2.0 requirement, managed to reach a usage rate of only 1.44 percent among 10 million devices, according to the shared report. However, it lagged behind the 20-year-old Windows XP and Windows 7, which had 1.71 percent and 4.7 percent usage rates, respectively.

In another study conducted by the company with more than 30 million devices, it is stated that more than half of the corporate workstations cannot meet the system requirements of Windows 11, and 44 percent of these computers have old CPUs. Although Windows 11 has depressing results on the corporate side, there is a rapid rise in the end user side. Continuing to increase its usage rate in the Steam hardware surveys of the last three months, Windows 11 has a rate of 16.84 percent compared to the 74.69 percent share of Windows 10.
