WhatsApp's voicemail-to-text feature was originally conceived in the fall of 2021, but work on the new feature was interrupted for unknown reasons. According to the latest information, the developers are testing this new functionality. The innovation was discovered in beta version 23.3.0.73 of the application. An infobox has been discovered in this release that will appear if a voice message cannot be translated to text. Causes shown in this box include the speech not being recognized and the transcription language not matching the system language.
WABetaInfo experts emphasize that the translation of voice messages into text takes place only on the device and no one except the interlocutors can access this information. It is not yet clear when the new feature will be available to a wide range of users.
