WhatsApp has launched Meta AI's new artificial intelligence features, including photo editing and creating personalised images. Easy access will be provided without leaving the platform.

WhatsApp announced brand new artificial intelligence features. These features, offered by the US tech giant's productive assistant called Meta AI, will be able to translate in 6 languages, edit photos and create personalised images.

More countries are expected to gain access

Meta AI was previously available in a limited number of countries as an application that can be used in WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, allowing users to answer questions and create the images they imagine. New countries have been added among these countries.

According to information from Meta, Meta AI is available in 22 countries as of today, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Cameroon. In addition, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish languages are now supported.

The most notable of the new features may be the Imagine Edit function, which allows users to edit photos. Designed to make simple edits without using Photoshop, this feature makes it possible to easily change and edit an image, including adding or removing objects.

To start using the feature, simply type ‘imagine’, describe the image you want, and type any additions, subtractions, or animations you would like to see added to the image provided by Meta AI. Imagine Edit is currently supported in English, but will be available in more languages soon.

WhatsApp has also launched ‘Imagine Yourself’, where users can create personalised images in a variety of outfits and settings by typing ‘imagine me...’ and then defining the scenario they want.

For example, you can turn a full-length photograph of yourself into an astronaut with the command ‘imagine me as astronaut’. Or you can type the phrase ‘imagine me as 3D sticker’ to turn your headshot into a sticker. This feature is currently in beta phase only in the USA.

WhatsApp made the following statement regarding the security of photos created with Meta AI:

‘We're excited to continue to share the new possibilities and advancements brought by Meta AI with more and more people on WhatsApp every day. As always, your personal messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted. So not even WhatsApp or Meta can see or listen to this information.’
