WhatsApp has introduced the voice message transcription feature for Android. With this feature, you will be able to see the content of voice messages in written form, especially when you can’t listen to them.
Initially launched for iOS, WhatsApp is now rolling out this feature for Android users step by step. Thanks to this update, the text of an unlistened voice message will appear right below the message itself.
Voice messages are one of the easiest ways to communicate on WhatsApp, but they can be problematic in noisy environments or when silence is required. The new transcription feature eliminates this issue and is also a great solution for users who dislike voice messages.
According to WhatsApp, the transcriptions are generated directly on the device, ensuring that no one, not even WhatsApp, can access your messages. The feature will be disabled by default when it becomes available and can be enabled through the Chats section in WhatsApp settings.
The transcription feature initially supports English, Portuguese, Spanish , Russian, and Hindi. More languages will be added in the future.
