WhatsApp, which has become a social media application that meets all kinds of needs rather than a simple messaging application, will strengthen this aspect with its new feature.

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow Android users to respond to messages faster. This innovation will make it possible for users to quickly react to messages by double-clicking on them, and a default emoji will be shown as a reaction. In fact, we are familiar with this feature from many social media platforms, especially Instagram. However, on a platform like WhatsApp, this innovation can be considered a very important step.

According to WABetaInfo, this quick response feature was discovered in WhatsApp Android beta version 2.24.16.7. With this version, users will be able to react quickly by double-clicking on messages. This feature, which shows a ‘heart emoji’ by default, allows users to achieve the same purpose with a double click by shortening the process of long pressing on a message and then selecting an emoji. Currently, the default emoji cannot be changed, but this may change in future updates. 

This feature is currently only available to beta testers and is still under development. Therefore, those using the latest Android beta version of WhatsApp through the Google Play Beta programme can access this feature.

In addition to fast message response, WhatsApp is also developing other features such as live transcription of voice messages and real-time translation of messages. In addition, WhatsApp's artificial intelligence chatbot Meta AI is reportedly gaining more language support, text editing and new capabilities for user-generated content.
