WhatsApp is coming to iPad: Testing has begun!

Meta has started testing the tablet version of the popular messaging application WhatsApp. WhatsApp iPad application is currently being tested with some users enrolled in the beta programme.

How does the WhatsApp iPad application work?

After PCs, WhatsApp is coming to tablets. The arrival of the WhatsApp app for iPad has been long awaited and Meta has finally started testing it.

According to WABetaInfo, the latest version of WhatsApp beta available for download from Apple TestFlight is compatible with iPadOS. Previously, iPad users had to use the web version because there was no iPadOS software and the iPhone version was not compatible with Apple tablets. WhatsApp will now work as a Mac application on iPad. After scanning the QR code from the WhatsApp app, all chats will be downloaded and users will be able to send and receive messages on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The WhatsApp iPad app will work even when iPhone is not nearby or not connected to the same WiFi network. However, WhatsApp for iPad is a utility like the desktop version. This means that you cannot create a WhatsApp account from the tablet.

It is not yet known when WhatsApp will come to iPad. The beta version can only be downloaded via TestFlight and new users are not accepted into the beta programme.
