WhatsApp announces chat filters feature

WhatsApp has announced a new chat filters feature that allows users to more easily access specific messages in the app: Chats will now be sorted into All, Unread and Groups.

WhatsApp chat filters: All, Unread and Groups

With the latest update, WhatsApp brings a series of new chat filters that make it easier to access certain messages: All, Unread and Groups. By default, the All filter is selected. This lists incoming messages to your WhatsApp as unfiltered. The Unread filter helps you look at messages you may not have seen and clear unread chat flags. The Groups filter lets you quickly switch between your group chats. This filter also shows conversations in subgroups that are part of Communities.

WhatsApp said that the filter options will be available to users starting today and will be available to all users in a few weeks. WhatsApp is also working on other filters, such as Contacts to filter messages from unknown people and businesses, and Favourites to add frequently used contacts.
