WhatsApp, the world's most popular instant messaging application, continues to gain new capabilities. In this context, the platform, which has recently announced its renewed desktop application, will now launch the long-awaited Individual Chat Lock feature. So what does the feature discovered by WABetaInfo in the beta version of WhatsApp offer? Let's see together.
Individual Chat Lock is coming to WhatsApp
Reportedly, the new Personal Chat Lock will be added to the "Privacy" tab already available in Whatsapp, which allows users to lock the entire app with biometric authentication. Thus, the new feature will allow certain chats on the contact or group information screen to be locked with fingerprint or password authentication. In addition, chat messages that are protected by the Personal Chat Lock feature will also be prevented from automatically saving media files to the device gallery. Additionally, WhatsApp will request deletion of conversation history when a locked conversation is opened without proper authentication.
We can say that this feature, which is currently under development, will add an extra layer of protection and privacy to WhatsApp on user privacy. However, WhatsApp has not yet shared an official confirmation or release date about the new feature. However, it is highly likely that it will be included in a future update.
