WhatsApp Update: It will not be possible to screenshot profile pictures

The new privacy feature of the popular messaging application WhatsApp has emerged. Those who try to take a screenshot of users' profile picture on WhatsApp will now be blocked.

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that increases user privacy. The application will prevent taking screenshots of profile pictures. WhatsApp aims to prevent unauthorised sharing by disabling the direct screenshot function.

WhatsApp continues to introduce new features that improve user experience and increase privacy. Profile photos can no longer be screenshotted on WhatsApp.

Currently, this feature is available to Android users participating in the WhatsApp beta programme and is available in version 2.24.4.25. According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, users will encounter a warning message stating that they are blocked by the application when trying to take a screenshot of a person's profile picture. Of course, WhatsApp cannot completely block this: the profile picture can be obtained by taking it with another phone or camera.

WhatsApp also offers other measures to protect profile pictures. Profile pictures were once easily downloadable, but this feature has long been gone. Users can also choose who they can show their profile picture to. They can also open "the about" and "status updates" section to certain people, as well as "the last seen" and "online" statuses.
