WhatsApp has been offering the feature that allows all messages from groups and contacts to be marked as read at once on iPhone for years. Now this feature is coming to Android phones.

WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow Android users to quickly clear the number of unread messages. The new ‘Mark all as read’ option will allow users to clear unread message notifications in one go every time they open the app.

‘Mark all as read’ is coming to Android

Android phone users will be able to clear message notifications from one-to-one and group chats by tapping the three dots at the top right on the home screen and then tapping ‘Mark all as read’. Instead of opening each chat or marking it as read, users will be able to clear all unread messages at once using this shortcut.

This feature has been available on WhatsApp iOS for years, finally coming to Android devices. The new feature came with WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.18.11
