Meta has upgraded Messenger with several new features, including HD video calls, noise-canceling, and AI-generated backgrounds. Here’s a closer look at these updates.
The new HD video calling feature is set to default on Wi-Fi and can also be activated on cellular networks via the call settings menu. Additional options include noise cancellation and switching between different audio outputs. Meta has also added the ability to send voice and video messages directly within Messenger.
To access AI-generated backgrounds, tap the effects icon on the sidebar during a call, and Meta AI will create a customized background based on your prompt. This background can then be applied to your video calls.
Lastly, Meta has introduced hands-free calling and messaging via Apple's Siri. Simply ask Siri to place a call or send a message "using Messenger," and Siri will complete the action directly through Messenger.
