Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has started to gradually shelve certain models before the Android 14 update. As you know, the Chinese manufacturer periodically updates the EOS (End of Support) list, which includes the devices whose update support has been discontinued. Finally, three more phones have been added to this list.
Xiaomi cuts update support for three more phones!
According to Xiaomi's renewed EOS list, Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9 and Poco M2 models will no longer receive forward updates. Let us remind you that these phones, which were first released in 2020, were introduced with Android 10-based MIUI 11. Phones that have received two major MIUI updates to date, currently support MIUI 14 based on Android 12. It is worth noting that support for Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9 and Poco M2 will not be completely cut off. Of course, it will not receive new MIUI and Android updates. However, they will continue to receive security updates in critical or rare cases. So users don't have to worry about upgrading to a newer phone unless they want better hardware or 5G connectivity.
