Twitter layoffs begin

Since Twitter was acquired by Elon Musk last week, various rumors have been circulating about the extent of the company's upcoming staff reduction. According to the news of The Washington Post, a plan was drawn up in the billionaire's inner circle last weekend that one out of every four employees of the social network could lose their job in the first stage. According to the source, the negotiations on the matter were coordinated by Alex Spiro, a well-known lawyer who has represented Elon Musk for many years. Spiro is reportedly simultaneously influencing the activities of multiple Twitter units, including those responsible for legal matters, government relations, politics and marketing. Musk's longtime associates, David Sacks and Jason Calcanis, were also allegedly spotted at the Twitter office, already holding corporate email addresses and positions as "senior software engineers." Although Musk himself denies holding such a position, he formally addressed the meetings in his role as CEO.

Sales professionals on target

The new management team reportedly has time to discuss the scale of the first wave of staff reductions that are believed to affect 25% of Twitter's workforce. Most sales, product, development, legal and information security personnel will be laid off. It is stated that sales professionals are the second highest paid group in Twitter's structure after engineers, and the annual income of those working in this field can exceed 300,000 dollars. Twitter's new management is now getting into the details of how the social network and the company work. Officially, Twitter representatives did not even announce the completion of the deal with Elon Musk, and the company's employees did not receive any official notification of upcoming reforms and changes. Twitter may start laying off staff as of tomorrow. Last week, knowledgeable sources reported that about half of all Twitter employees could lose their jobs.
