This is the iPhone 15 !

Finally, the moment Apple lovers have been waiting for has arrived. iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were introduced and some improvements were brought.

Here is a summary of the 10 biggest new features of iPhone 15:

  • USB-C port replaces Lightning
  • All four models use Dynamic Island
  • iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are powered by the older A16 chip
  • iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max work with the newer A17 chip
  • Pro models use titanium instead of stainless steel, which reduces weight
  • iPhone 15 Pro models replace mute button with new programmable "Action" button
  • Only the iPhone 15 Pro Max model comes with a new periscope camera with a longer zoom range
  • Regular iPhone 15 models feature an upgraded primary camera with a 48MP sensor
  • iPhone 15 and 15 Plus available in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage options
  • iPhone 15 has a 3877 mAh battery and iPhone 15 Plus has a 4912 mAh battery.

So these are the most remarkable new features. But there are many other small features you should know about.

So the iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with a triple camera familiar with the LiDAR system, and now uses its inner chamber to house a new 5x zoom lens (120mm equivalent). The telephoto lens now has a tetraprism design that provides 5x optical zoom. This is an improvement over last year's 3x. When you add digital zoom, the iPhone 15 Pro Max can go up to 25x, compared to the 15x of the previous model.

Apple also introduced autocorrect and predictive typing on the keyboard. It will now remember your expression and better adapt to you. Apple has decided to harness the power of the 48MP sensor to offer us a better quality 2x zoom.

Pro Mode will now be able to save 48MP raw photos as HEIF, which will make memory more efficient. Thanks to the USB 3 port, videographers will be able to record 4K 60 FPS footage in ProRes directly to an external storage device for easier transfer of work files.

The combination of power and volume buttons is also untouched, but one of the iPhone constants, the mute button, has been removed from the iPhone 15 Pro series. Instead, there is a new Action button that works in much the same way as the one found on the Apple Watch Ultra.

The button will work as a silent switch. But when you press and hold the button, you can customise the button to perform various actions, such as turning on the flashlight, opening an app, launching a custom Siri shortcut, entering focus mode, and more. This is an interesting addition for iPhone.

Note that Apple no longer sells the 128GB 15 Pro Max model.

The most affordable of the new versions is the iPhone 15 with a 6.1-inch screen and two rear cameras, starting at $800, followed by the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus with a larger battery, starting at $900.
