The world`s first headset has been developed that never runs out of charge.

3M announced at CES 2024 the world's first self-charging headset that uses solar cell technology to convert outdoor and indoor light into continuous charging.

At CES 2024, 3M unveiled the world's first self-charging headset that uses solar cell technology to convert outdoor and indoor light into continuous charging. The device is partially made from recycled plastic and electronics, while the solar cell is manufactured in a fully solar-powered facility.

While the world's first solar-powered communication headset was designed by 3M, the device can recharge itself and works the same way indoors by converting available light into clean electrical energy. In other words, sunlight is not necessarily needed, the presence of ambient light is sufficient for energy.

This headset doesn't run out of battery.

The headset, called the 3M PELTOR WS ALERT XPV, is designed for use by workers in extremely noisy environments and serves as a tool to communicate, stay productive and stay safe. The device is equipped with Bluetooth so it can connect to other Bluetooth-enabled devices and also has a built-in microphone to block noise.

The Bass-Listen (PTL) button on the headset allows users to listen to their surroundings without having to remove the headset. The feature pauses the Bluetooth stream and activates the ambient microphones to listen to colleagues or the environment.

As we mentioned above, 3M meets all the energy needs of this headset with solar cells. These areyl Powerfoes produced by the Swedish company Exeger. Powerfoyle solar cells keep the 1000mAh lithium battery inside the device constantly charged. Thus, the product never runs out of charge. The price of the headset is 600 dollars. The product is expected to hit the market in March.

Powerfoyle can be seamlessly integrated into any electronic device that traditionally uses disposable batteries. However, the company is working to go further and integrate Powerfoyle into all kinds of electronic devices and thus aims to eliminate the need for wired chargers.
